Brown rice congee, pulled pork and a fried egg
This dish was made from using leftover ingredients from the Japanese BBQ pulled pork buns that are already on Live and Let Eat. Pork and the dashi stock. There also just happened to be cooked brown rice in the fridge to. White rice works even better. A few toppings like furikake, pickled ginger, crispy shallots, soy sauce, sesame oil and a runny fried egg. Now that's comfort food super easy.
The leftover dashi stock and pulled pork is from the Japanese BBQ pulled pork bun recipe. If you haven't made the pork buns you can buy dashi stock powder or dashi "teabags" from most Asian grocers. The pork can be whatever meat you want. Pulled meat, sliced meat, meat chunks, mince or slap on some vegetables.
Furikake and pickled ginger (red in this recipe) is available from most Asian grocers.
